2 Minutes of Soothing Swagger: Dogger & DRS drop groovy LA inspired liquid single ‘Let You Down’

ON ROTATION SINGLE REVIEW: Let You Down by Dogger & DRS

For people who like…drum and bass, liquid, groove

Being two minutes or so, Let You Down is a snappy soother that’s only letting down people with cheap tastes and pretentious preferences. So far, this is proving to be an excellent year for soulful liquid DnB, with this single certainly being part of that…

The notable liquid DnB releases just keep flowing through 2025, with rising producer Dogger and vocal legend in drum and bass DRS providing their contribution on Drum and Bass Arena this June.

Collaborating with production partner Mindstate on many of his early releases, Dogger has recently expanded his artist collaborations to include Manchester’s finest vocal talents, [KSR] previously, and DRS on ‘Let You Down’.

A solid drum beat begins the track, with DRS making himself and Dogger known before a gloriously soulful chorus. The verse starts and I’m instantly wowed by how soothing and groovy the bass line is (seriously catchy), with DRS offering up his usual dose of cleverly delivered storytelling vocals.

Although the side-panel in Spotify shows me the video was clearly not filmed in LA, the track seems to carry a strong Los Angeles theme to it; coming not only from the airline sample at the beginning, but also DRS’s lyrics speaking of “cruising down Melrose”, the hot sun, and LA traffic.

The track paints a vivid picture of cool neighborhoods and frivolous holiday flings, perhaps the lyrics at least are an ode to a holiday romance.

Whatever this track is in reference to, it’s as cool as they come, with DRS and Dogger coming together perfectly. The only criticism I would have is that before you know it it’s over, and you’re left wanting more…until next time!
